Dual Enrollment Classes with LLC

Our office supports area students to enroll in Lake Land College on-campus classes designed for HS students to earn high school and college credit.

LLC Auto Tech Program - full-year program

First day is August 21, 2023

This program is designed for and open to high school students in the EIEFES region.  Classes are held on the Lake Land College Campus Monday- Friday from 8-10 am and are taught by college faculty.  Students learn Basic Automotive Repair skills including shop safety, tire services, vehicle inspection, detailing, OSHA 10 safety, how to use rigging and hoisting equipment as well as learn basic welding skills.  This program is designed to further their education and skills through continued classes at LLC or be used immediately to obtain employment.  Expectations are set high for students enrolled in this program.  This program will follow the Lake Land College Calendar which will be different than your high school schedule.

New in FY2023 - we are creating apprenticeship opportunities for students who know that a career in the Auto Industry is for them.  College staff will work with area employers and students to create apprenticeships that meet the needs of the student.  Reach out to us or your teacher to find out how to get paid to go to school!


Students, Parents, and Counselors are encouraged to join us for an Orientation /Open House to learn more about the program and its expectations.  Hear from current students and learn about some exciting, possible new changes!

NEW! - Intro to Education at Shelbyville High School 

This new course is offered at Shelbyville High School to area students who qualify.  This Monday-Friday, 8am-8:50am class will meet first semester at Shelbyville High School and second semester will be clinical experience in an educational setting.  The course is taught by Lake Land College Faculty, therefore all students will need to meet college enrollment guidelines to participate.  Details are still being worked out - talk to your high school counselor or call our office for more information.

The course is offered free of charge to participating schools through a partnership with the EIEFES office for School Year 2023-2024.
