Health Occupations Clinical Teacher Detailed Job Description
We are hiring a part-time teacher to work in our Effingham Program beginning Fall 2022! Our Health Occupations program prepares area high school students to be valuable members of a health care team through in-depth instruction on physiology, anatomy, medical terminology while providing career information to help students explore a wide variety of health care careers. Our program includes the training needed to sit for the state CNA examination.
Position
This position is for a clinical instructor to assist two other full-time teachers
Part-time, approx 40 days between Aug 1-May 15 (school-based calendar)
Teaching location is based in our Effingham Classroom on the HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital campus and at local business partner locations
This position requires clinical instruction in a patient care setting
Job Duties
Provide Clinical instruction and some classroom assistance as needed to prepare students to work as a CNA and to sit for the state CNA exam
Attend Teacher meetings as announced (approximately 6 per year)
Enforce class policy
Work with school districts or Director if there are student issues to be addressed
Work with hospital staff for collaboration with class/students
Work with Business Partners to provide on-site experiences for students
Partner and collaborate with other teachers as needed
Other duties as required by Director or needed by students
Minimum Requirements
Registered Nurse with over 2 years of experience and at least 1 year working in long-term care &/or med-surg
IDPH Approved CNA Educator (assistance provided to obtain or have a BSN)
CPR Certified: Healthcare Provider Level
Willing to apply for a teaching license (no classes required - assistance provided to obtain)
Clean Criminal History
Preferred: experience in working with high school students
Preferred: experience teaching
Must be passionate about the profession and enjoy working in health care
Must be COVID 19 vaccinated
Physical Demands
Ability to pick up items and carry items up to and over 25lbs
May need to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Stooping or bending
Must be able to perform the 21 CNA skills as demonstrated to students
Work Schedule
Calendar to be created annually with most duties between August 1-May 15
Teaching on clinical days approx. 6:30am-3:30pm during the work week
Some nights and weekends as needed for make-up instruction
Contracted forapproximately 50 days of instruction
Professional development days as requested and agreed upon
Salary/Benefits
$150 per day

College and Career Pathway Endorsement Coordinator - Pilot Project
College and Career Pathway Endorsement Coordinator - new 3 year position
New pilot program seeks to hire an individual to work with area school districts in Coles, Clark, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Moultrie, and Shelby counties to develop and/or expand access to a range of experiences that will position students to earn new College & Career Pathway Endorsements.
This position is a 3-year temporary position that is renewed annually with the availability of grant funds.
Essential Functions:
Assist area school districts in preparing to implement College and Career Pathway Endorsements
Support districts in administering and creating systems to use data from career interest, personality, or skills surveys and inventories completed by students in EFE system
Assist the districts with the development of better systems for career counseling to students and conduct Career Plan development and assessment with students
Solicit industry professionals to participate in advisory committees, sponsoring team-based challenges, or other work-based learning efforts
Serve as liaison between CTE educators and staff, EFE System personnel, school counselors, social service and government agencies, community colleges and universities and employers within the EFE System to coordinate efforts toward increasing work-based learning and dual-credit
Coordinate with the Local Workforce area Career Planners
Collaborate with educators to identify, incorporate, and embed work-based learning opportunities into both CTE and core coursework
Understand and structure and local/regional context of the Education for Employment (EFE) System, including its districts, it CTE programs, student and community demographics, leading and emerging industries
Understanding of and proven ability/passion to work with diverse populations, including Special Populations and defined by Perkins V
Contact and work with local employers for work-based learning opportunities including but not limited to career exploration, job shadowing, professional mentoring, internships, and apprenticeships. Keep the information current in the ISBE work-based learning database for the CTE system
Preferred qualifications:
Experience: Two years working with career advisement, youth services, and/or workforce training
Education: 60 or more credit hours or Associate's Degree
Ability to carefully track data and program outcomes
Physical Demands:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, with the ability to lift up to 40 lbs with proper technique.
This job requires regular travel to schools in the EIEFES 340 region as well as to business and educational partner sites.
Terms of Employment:
This is a 10 month position
35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
Paid holidays, Bi-monthly payroll
Position may qualify for IL Municipal Retirement Fund or TRS pension depending on qualifications

This position is teaching Health Occupations to area high school students. Teachers will teach the CNA curriculum as outlined by IDPH, with additional in-depth physiology, anatomy, and terminology. Teachers also provide career information to help students explore a variety of health care careers while learning employability skills including the training needed to sit for the state CNA examination
Full-time, 9 1/2 month position, approx Aug 1-May 15 (school-based calendar)
Teaching location is in our Paris Classroom on the Horizon Health Hospital campus
This position requires classroom instruction and clinical instruction in a patient care setting
Job Duties
Teach and enhance health occupations curriculum as coordinated with director and other program teachers
Provide guidance and support for all classroom and clinical activities including:
o Creating power point lessons
o Creating worksheets, tests, and curriculum items to enhance learning
o Use Google Classroom to post notes, lessons, and to video record class lectures
o Providing hands-on skills lessons in preparation for working with patients
