Health Occupations CNA Instructor - Job Description
Mattoon Location
Position
This position is teaching Health Occupations to area high school students. Instructors will teach CNA curriculum as outlined by IDPH, with additional in-depth physiology, anatomy, and terminology. Instructors also provide career information to help students explore a variety of health care careers while learning employability skills and the training needed to sit for the state CNA examination.
1 Part-time, 9 month position open at our Mattoon location
Co-teaching with a full-time instructor who has over 20 years of nursing experience
This position requires classroom instruction and clinical instruction in a patient care setting
Job Duties
Instruct and enhance health occupations curriculum as coordinated with co-instructor
Provide guidance and support for all classroom and clinical activities including:
Creating power point lessons
Creating worksheets, tests, and curriculum items to enhance learning
Use Google Classroom to post notes, lessons, and to video record class lectures
Providing hands-on skills lessons in preparation to working with patients
Attend instructor meetings as announced
Arrange Class Speakers to come into class where appropriate
Work with area School Districts to assist with student recruitment
Enforce class policy
Work with school districts or Director if there are student issues to be addressed
Work with hospital staff for collaboration with class/students
Work with business partners to provide on-site experiences for students
Partner and collaborate with other instructors as needed
Other duties as required by Director or needed by students
Minimum Requirements
Registered Nurse with over 2 years of experience and at least 1 year working in one or both of the following areas:
Teaching theory in an accredited nurse training program; or
Providing nursing care, including personal care and activities of daily living, to older adults or for chronically ill adults
IDPH Approved CNA Educator (assistance provided to obtain)
CPR Certified: Healthcare Provider Level
Willing to apply for a teaching license (no classes required - assistance provided to obtain)
Clean Criminal History
Preferred: experience in working with high school aged students
Preferred: experience teaching
Must be passionate about the profession and enjoy working in health care
Physical Demands
Ability to pick up items and carry items up to and over 25lbs
May need to sit for extended periods of time
Stooping and bending
Minimal Computer Experience: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Classroom
Work Schedule
Calendar to be created annually with most duties August 5-May 15
Assisting part-time 7:00-3:30pm, Monday-Friday with time as needed outside of class to prepare
Some nights and weekends as needed
Contracted for up to approximately 90 days of instruction
Professional development days as requested and agreed upon

EIEFES 340 System Director - Job Vacancy
Duties
The Education for Employment (EFE) System Director represents secondary students in 25 area school districts throughout East Central Illinois who are participating in career and technical education. The System Director secures federal and state grants to provide professional development and the materials needed to teach career and technical education courses, develop pathways to postsecondary success, administers regional programs, and supports other initiatives and programming related to career and technical education.
The Director is the primary CTE liaison to teachers, principals, CTE staff, and central office departments with issues related to CTE policies and procedures (e.g., teacher certification requirements, course code usage procedures, program approval processes, etc.) This position will also liaise regularly with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to ensure CTE activities are aligned with ISBE guidelines.
Qualifications
Must hold or be willing to obtain an ELS-CTE and a PEL Administrative License in the State of Illinois. Must be well organized and able to develop relationships with educators, post-secondary partners, area businesses, and others. Familiarity with school budgets and grant writing is preferred.

Additional Notes
The EFE #340 Board is seeking applications for a Full-Time Director or a Part-Time Interim Director. The office for this position is located in the newly renovated LIFT building in Mattoon. Start date will be flexible depending on the successful candidate's availability. Interviews will be conducted on a continual basis. This position will be posted until filled.
