Just a Reminder!

First Day of Health Occupations – August 15, 2025

Students should report directly to their classroom site for in-person instruction at their scheduled class time. Please see the links below for directions to each class site.

If you have any questions, please call the administrative office at 217-258-6283.

On your first day of class, please bring:

Completed orientation paperwork
Copy of your physical
Copy of your respiratory clearance
Copy of your immunization record
Notebook
Pen/Pencil
Copy of your medical insurance card
Copy of your car insurance card
Copy of your Social Security card

Important: Students will also need a personal Gmail account (not connected to your school) to use during the program.

Effingham - HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital Site

Students will meet their teachers, Christy Shoemaker, RN, and Jessi Tegeler, RN, outside in front of the main entrance (by the Gift Shop) at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital.

🚪 Do not enter the hospital unless it is raining.
☔ If it is raining, you may enter the hospital lobby.

Your teachers will meet you outside, show you where to park, and walk you to the classroom!

Class Times:

Section 1: 7:30 AM – 9:15 AM
Section 2: 9:55 AM – 11:40 AM
Section 3: 1:15 PM – 3:00 PM

Paris - Horizon Health Site with Mrs. Cline

Students will meet their instructor, Carol Cline, RN, at the loading dock door near the Emergency Room.

🚗 Parking:
Students should park in the lot located on the Emergency Room side of the hospital. Please park only in white-lined spaces or in the gravel lot.

🚪 Entry:
Enter through the door at the end of the loading dock, which leads into the lower level of the hospital (Emergency Room side).

Section 1: 7:30 AM – 9:15 AM
Section 2: 10:15 AM – 12:00 PM
Section 3: 1:15 PM – 3:00 PM

Mattoon - Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center Site

Students will meet their teacher, Aleah Clatfelter, RN, outside the new Education Center – Entrance C, located at the back of the hospital.

🚗 Parking:
Please park in the large parking lot near the back of the hospital and away from the building.

👩‍⚕️ Look for your teachers in red scrubs — they will be there to greet you and guide you to the classroom!

Section 2: 9:35 AM – 11:10 AM
Section 3: 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM

Shelbyville - HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital Site with Mrs. Fisher

Students will meet their teacher, Kerry Fisher, RN, at the Main Entrance / ER Entrance of HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital (Shelbyville Hospital) on Pine Street (next to Subway).

🚗 Parking:
Please park in the large lot located near Pine Street and Second Street.

Mrs. Fisher will give you further instructions on parking once you arrive.

Section 2: 9:45 AM – 11:30 AM
Section 3: 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM
