HOCC First Day

First Day of Health Occupations is August 18th, 2022

Students will report to their classroom site for in-person instruction at their scheduled class time. TAKE A MASK! See below for links to each class site. Please call the administrative office at 217-258-6283 with any questions.

Bring orientation paperwork, copy of physical, copy of immunization record, notebook, pen/pencil, and copy of social security card to the first day of class. Students will need to have a personal Gmail account not associated with your school!

Effingham - HSHS St. Anthony Memorial Hospital

Students can meet their teachers, JoEllen Armstrong RN and Christy Shoemaker RN, outside, in front of the main entrance of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital- do not enter. Students will need to take a mask and wear it as instructed. The teachers will show you where to park and show you to the classroom.

Section 1: 7:30-9:15am

Section 2: 9:55-11:40am

Section 3: 1:15-3:00pm

Paris - Horizon Health

Students will meet their instructor, Carol Cline RN, at the loading dock door near the Emergency Room. Students should park in the parking lot located on the Emergency Room side of the Hospital and park in the white spaces or gravel lot. Students must wear a mask and enter the door at the end of the loading dock leading into the lower level of the hospital located on the Emergency room side. Students having trouble locating the classroom may call the teacher at 217-822-9005.

Mattoon - Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center

Students can meet their teachers, Aleah Clatfelter RN and Joann Curtis RN, outside of the main entrance of Prairie Pavilion 2, located in a separate building in front of the Hospital (Physical Therapy is in this building). Students must wear masks to enter the building. Please park on the east side of the Center for Healthy Living, away from the building.

Shelbyville - HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital

Meet your teacher, Kerry Fisher RN, at the Main Entrance/ER Entrance of HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital (Shelbyville Hospital) on Pine Street (by Subway) and park in the large lot near Pine and Second Street. Mrs. Fisher will give you further instructions for parking. Students must wear a mask to enter the building.
