2025 8th Grade Career Conference

Each February we celebrate Career & Technical Education Month® with several great activities for students in our EIEFES 340 Region! 

The 8th Grade Career Conference will be back at Lake Land College with plans for more room for our business partners!  In 2024 we hosted our favorite career speaker and author, Brooks Harper!  He has a dynamic message to share with your students regarding Career Readiness and Turning Earning into Learning!  Check him out at brooksharper.com and on Twitter @brooksharper.  

Be sure to check out the Illinois State Board of Education Career Guide High School Edition and Middle School Edition.  This 50 page Guide includes exciting updates regarding CTE, Career Pathways and Career Connected Learning.  This is a great resource for your students!  

Additionally, February is a great month to make sure students are utilizing access to our new platform SchooLinks to complete career assessments, explore careers, and work on their plan for the future.  Eastern IL Education for Employment System (EIEFES) uses CTE Grant Funds to support student use of SchooLinks at each School District in our region.    

Together these activities support student achievement as it relates to important objectives in Career Readiness!
